The Guru Granth Sahib is the Holy Scripture for the Sikhs. No Sikh ceremony is complete unless it is performed in front of the Guru Granth Sahib. It is written by the Gurus in their exact words and is regarded as the highest authority in the Sikh faith. It is the only scripture ever to be written that has writings from people of other faiths who truly loved God. 

 

It is given the highest respect and is a revelation of God delivered through the Gurus from God. The greatness of the writings can't be written in words one can only experience it.

 

It is all divided by music and not chapters which is unique as there is nothing like it in the world it is pure poetry and the meaning of each and every word is so deap that it can take days just to explain the meaning of one stanza.
